Bachelor of Science in Statistics (Bsc. Stat)
As a general rule, the more Statistics you have, the better for your preparation for entering our modern data-oriented society. Statistics involves far more than the mathematical tools that are used, particularly for the statistician who is interacting with people from other disciplines in modelling and analyzing complicated data. Statistics is a useful tool in many arts subjects, as well as the physical, biological, health, social and economic sciences. Our bachelors degree in Statistics aims at equipping our students with skills in problem formulation, computing, assessment of evidence and communication through various data manipulation and visualization tools. If your heart beats for evidence-based decision making, do not hesitate to consider applying for this program.

Bachelor of Science with Education (Bsc. Educ)
The Bachelor of Science with Education degree offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics is aimed at training teachers who are competent in teaching mathematical content at the secondary school level with confidence and ability to create a positive attitude in the learners towards the learning and doing of mathematics. It is important to note that every teacher is trained to teach two subjects. In addition to the course units taught at the department of mathematics and statistics, a student has to choose other course units from another subject(Physics, Chemistry, Economics or physical education) and foundational/professional course units offered by the faculty of education.
Eligibility criteria:
You must be a holder of at least one of the following.
– Uganda Advanced Level Certificate with a principal pass in mathematics.
– Grade V Diploma in Education, having taught Mathematics at Secondary School.
